Navigation for ASP.NET is a unique take on state management in ASP.NET applications that puts the Url back into the WUrld Wide Web.

  • New - Added NavigationData markup for Navigation Links, e.g., {NavigationLink Select}, {NavigationBackLink 1} and {RefreshLink}
  • New - Added ability to specify # fragment as part of Navigation Link markup, e.g., {NavigationBack 1#id}
  • New - Added NavigationData markup for NavigationData, e.g., ToData={NavigationData key1=value1,key2=value2}
  • New - Added refresh Navigation to a HyperLink control using markup, e.g., NavigateUrl={RefreshPostBack key=value}
  • New - Added support to NavigationData markup for property-level ViewState tuning e.g., {NavigationData* key}
  • New - Added ability to include all current data in NavigationData markup by prefixing with &, e.g., {NavigationData &key1=value1}
  • New - Allowed individual current data to be included or excluded in markup, e.g., {RefreshLink &key} and {NavigationData key}
  • New - Added CurrentDataKeys property to NavigationHyperLinks so a subset of StateContext Data can be passed during a navigation
  • New - Added derived data for State NavigationData, for building user-friendly URLs
  • New - Allowed a custom StateRouteHandler to be provided
  • Change - Changed event NavigationData markup so NavigationData can be set from Controls, e.g., OnSelectedIndexChanged={NavigationData key}
  • Change - Removed StateKeys property from HistoryNavigator, derived data can be used instead
  • Change - Pager no longer removes totalRowCount from StateContext Data, derived data can be used instead
